Games about a starship full of rag-tag scoundrels happening the run away from the space cops are nothing new. But it's rare that one pits you as the ship itself—and the passengers you're carrying aren't the only ones with a messy past. So goes A Long Journey To An Undependable End, a scheme management quad opera about avoiding a 50-ton spaceship's relationship issues.

Currently crowdfunding over on Kickstarter, Long Journey is a narration space opera debut for developer Crispy Creative, which boasts talent from Obsidian, Telltale Games, and more. Like FTL, you'll be moving from system to system of rules, evading a stubborn pursuer—though in this case, information technology's a jaded lover, and each current cosmos is an opportunity to pick up new crew members and assume jobs to fund for the next jump forwards.

Embodying a sentient spaceship along the run from their ex (presumptively, other massive vehicle) is a fondly balmy setup. Simply more significantly, the game's developer is making a refreshing stab at crafting a space Opera that feels like an honest reflection of fallible diversity.

"No graphic symbol can be cisgender, and heterosexual, and able-bodied, and monogynous," said Coats. "Everyone has to be something. That was the opening level for cerebration 'what to we stool there' and 'how do we make characters that put on't feel equivalent tokenism.'"

Coats describes how characters in the game are also rooted in people the team has met in real world, and are all designed to be folks you'd want to become connected a route trip with. It should also help the courageous's inclusive approach to role creation feel more at home plate within the game's world. Afterward all, Cyber-terrorist might have shouted about letting you workmanship a transgender V, simply it didn't much count when the Night City failed to accommodate it.
